The Tale goes that in advance of her death, Antoinette tried to flee France with the help of Captain Samuel Clough. She loaded Clough's ship with her most prized possessions, including 6 of her most loved Turkish Angora or quite possibly Siberian cats. While she did not allow it to be to the United States, all of her pets managed to reach the shore
